The session will focus on backbends, chest opening poses and breathing.
Our everyday life sitting at desks, using electronic devices, driving cars, watching movies from the comfort of soft cozy sofas and beds, etc. does not do much good to the health of our spine.
Rounded spine and collapsed chest are the most common problems nowadays. People are slouchy and breathing is affected majorly by the wrong posture. Bad posture is also an indication of suppressed emotions.
By incorporating chest opening postures and backbends you create more breathing space as well as unloading your emotional baggage.
The session will conclude with 30mins of Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra is a yogic sleep. It is a form of guided meditation – a state between being asleep and awake. Yoga Nidra promotes deep rest and relaxation. It helps to distress and cultivates peacefulness and release of long held emotions.
I am going to use a recoding of the founder of Blooming Lotus Yoga – Lilly (I attended their 7 day Yoga Retreat in Bali this year). I have done a few different Yoga Nidra practices from various recorded sources myself and I find Lilly’s voice and the way she guides you through the practice most relaxing and therapeutic.
The reason a 2 1/2 hour workshop is run at the price of a 2 hour session is that I am giving you the last 30mins of the session (Yoga Nidra) for free. It is a beautiful, relaxing and a therapeutic practice.
