Strong core (or a powerhouse) is a foundation for all your postures. It does not mean you have to have a washboard stomach and a six pack to develop a strong core. It is all about the engagement of the right muscles and locks (bandhas) in a body.Strengthening your abdominals will help you to:
– stay longer in postures
– have a better balance
– maintain a good posture
– strengthen your back
– improve your lifestyle
The 10 day Challenge will take your through learning how to access 10 Core Strengthening Yoga postures in a safe and effective way. You will learn to modify it to your own level and learn the steps to progress it to a more advanced posture. You do not have to be able to perform a posture on a more advanced level to rip all the benefits of the pose. People need to get away from that mindset and stop comparing themselves to others.
The main goal of the challenge is to learn that the only person you should compare yourself is actually you – you from last week, last month or last year! People are not going to look you more or less if you cannot do a handstand or an arm balance – remember that everyone has been a beginner at some point and it is all about the baby steps and consistency!
The Challenge will run from Natallia’s Functional Yoga page. I will be releasing one session per day starting from the 21st of May. If you are not on Facebook you can access it from here: I’ll be adding a video per day on here.

The Postures we will work on during the challenge are:
- Chaturanga (low plank)
- Boat Pose
- Dolphin Plank
- Side Plank
- Tiger Curl
- Superman or 2 Point Plank
- Learn to Fly or L-sit
- Baby Grasshopper
- Bakasana or Crow Pose
You might not be able to access full postures in 10 days, but it will give you a good base for where to start from!
