Online Yoga Basics 8 Session Course
‘Deconstructing the Asanas*’
(*Asanas are yoga postures*)
The course is suitable for both: complete beginners and those who are already practicing yoga.
The aim of the course is to give you the basic knowledge of the main Yoga postures for you to be able to practice yoga in a safe way and to be aware of how to get into the position, what you are stretching, the correct alignment and what variations of the posture you can opt for.
This is a very straightforward and easy to follow course. We will be studying and deconstructing only 2 Yoga Postures per session (less is more as they say) stripping them away to the basics and learning about:
1. The posture’s correct alignment
4. Anatomy and the muscles used and targeted in the posture,
5. Breathing pattern
6. Physical and spiritual awareness
7. Benefits of the posture.
We will also be covering different breathing patterns in each session.
I will also email you all that information weekly. There are 8 sessions in this course and I would encourage you to do no more than 1 session per week and read the notes that go with it. Saying that it is totally up to you how you would like to do it.
By signing up to the course you will be added to a private Facebook group and you can interact with myself or other people from the group, ask questions and feedback on anything you would like to improve or learn more about.
There is also a FREE Functional Yoga group on Facebook with short weekly sequences that you can join any time to maximise your learning and practice.
Your knowledge of the Yoga postures will help you to enjoy the longer practice more as you will be aware of how to get the most out of every position.
