Celebrating Spring Equinox & Mother’s Day half day real TREAT just for you!
We are inviting you to join us for a half day of Yoga and Mindfulness at Storehouse.
Treat yourself and your mum to that special ‘me’ or bonding time that we all are craving so much in our hectic busy lives.
Spring into spring on this half day Yoga mini retreat. Taking place around the time of the Spring Equinox, also known as the Vernal Equinox, Ostara, or the first day of spring, this is a time to celebrate new life, awakening, fertility, coming out of the winter, and most of all, balance (day and night are equal length).
The practice will focus on letting go of whatever winter brought for you, detoxing and ‘spring cleaning’ your body and mind of stagnant energy that has been stored over the long, dark and cold winter months and celebrating your femininity during this Mother’s Day mini break.
Winter is almost gone, and our body and mind are craving a good ‘spring clean’. Many of our organs and systems feel depleted at this time of the year and our immune system needs rebooting. Our Yoga Practice will focus on the Yoga asanas, pranayama (breathing) and sequences that focus on squeezing out the toxins (expect twists, chest openers and core stimulating sequences in the first Yoga practice). Therapy balls will be used at the end of the session for a back sequence to release all that stress that has been accumulating in your spine over the cold period.
The poses will be held for longer in the Yin Session: we are going deeper into the mind and body. Distress, release, restore, improve circulation and target deep muscles and tissues during this wonderful gentle but effective Yoga Practice letting go of what no longer serves us and embracing the changes that spring is bringing with it’s arrival.
How wonderful it is to share this experience with a group of like minded people over two Yoga Sessions and a scrumptious Storehouse breakfast!
Storehouse is a family run restaurant and a gift shop renowned throughout the area for their delicious locally sourced food. Their menu changes daily so that they can take advantage of all the fabulous local produce available. Restaurant is conveniently located just off the A9, on the edge of the Cromarty Firth with outstanding views over to the Black Isle, just 15 minutes from Inverness.
The sessions are going to be held in the building next to the restaurant.
Please bring a yoga mat, a blanket, a meditation cushion and a bolster if you have them. You are more than welcome to borrow some of my props as well.
What’s included into your Yoga Morning:
~ 9am – 11am ~
- Introducing Kapalahbati Breathing (to stimulate the core, clear out the stagnant energy and re energise)
- Meditation & Pranayama (Breathing)
- ‘Embracing Change’ Flowing Vinyasa sequences to create heat and get the body moving with Myofascial Back Sequence at the end.
~ 11am – 11:45am ~
- Breakfast, blether and getting to know each other

~ 11:45am – 1pm ~
- ‘Letting Go’ Yin Practice to pause, reboot and unwind. Letting go of what no longer serves you throughout this mindful and relaxing Yin Practice.
Clary Sage, Lavender & Frankincense oils will be diffused throughout the practice to help you relax and unwind.
