Spleen & Stomach are the two organs. most affected by out diet. They have different physical functions, but similar energetic ones.
SPLEEN is a primary digestive organ, about the size of the heart. It sits behind the stomach on the left, under the diaphragm. Spleen can become too stagnant with too much processed or sweet food.
STOMACH lies to the left of diaphragm. It is the primary digestive organ. Our energy is nourished by stomach on physiological, mental and emotional levels.
Spleen is the source of life for other organs, It extracts nutrition from food and liquids and converts them into blood and chi and sends this ‘grain’ chi to lungs where synthesis of blood and chi take place.
On the energetic and physiological level, we can live without spleen and gallbladder, but their absence does not affect the even flow of energy (chi) in the meridians, even if they are removed.
Healthy Spleen and Stomach manifests in clear thinking, connection to the world around us; healthy survival instincts, grounded.
Energetically spleen is the centre of determination and willpower. When spleen chi is out of balance we feel lethargic and weak. It also manifests in anxiety, nervousness.
